We’re delighted to announce that Arts Council England generously awarded Emma Neuberg an ACE grant for her project ‘Painting into Textiles.’ The award affords the opportunity to build upon the artist’s recent Los Angeles residency in the MFA department at Otis to explore the possibilities of paint and textiles for large-scale painting constructions and site-specific installations.

Her work continues to address, broadly, the theme of ‘the denied voice‘ with a focus on the cultural and environmental consequences of abusive behaviors and denial.

The artist’s colleagues, curator Jareh Das and textiles artist, Ptolemy Mann were also awarded grants for the same period. Das’s project is called The Post-colonial of Pain and Mann’s is Thread Painting – Exploring the Relationship between Dyeing Thread and Painting on Paper.
